Change and Flexibility: Redesigning Teaching

1. ABSTRACT Since 1994 the student cohort at Central Queensland University (CQU) has undergone drastic change in ability, culture and mode of attendance. This paper describes a project attempting to address the problems caused by these changes. The project has developed alternative teaching approaches and material including animations, online lectures, a Web site mirrored on CD−ROM, the use of BACI and modified assessment strategies. Early experience shows that these approaches appear to be more flexible and improve the learning experience of some students. 2.
